Being able build up a company with like-minded colleagues is very previous

Please tell us about your career so far

I was in China until university. I majored in Japanese and was interested in languages. After graduating from university, I went to Japan to study linguistics in graduate school. Since I often used databases, I was interested in the fields of programming and IT. After completing my master’s degree, I joined Accenture as an SE as a new graduate. As a practical matter, I was engaged in IT system implementation operation and maintenance, etc. for about two years. While working as an SE, I wanted to work closer to the customer, but I couldn't do that as an SE. I started thinking about changing jobs to change my position to an IT consultant which is more customer-oriented than system-oriented. I wanted to use IT as a means to solve our customers' problems.

How did you meet ARK?

At that time, I joined a foreign-affiliated consulting company and joined a manufacturer's project in Osaka. There were delays, and it was difficult when I started the project, but I did my job well and made the overall schedule smoother. While feeling the satisfaction of being able to work as an IT consultant, I was then assigned to a project for an automobile manufacturer in Tokyo, where I met ARK employees.

I had worked for a major consulting company before and had never worked for a venture company like ARK, so I found it interesting to hear about it. However, I was also concerned that ventures would be too risky. I talked individually with the current president of ARK and received an explanation of the company's purpose and philosophy. I joined the company after hearing that they were trying to do something that was not done before in the consulting industry until now, and that they were not just seeking stability.

What is it like to work at ARK?

As an IT consultant, ARK develops and designs BI for a Nikkei consumer goods manufacturer. Many of our current employees also came from major consulting companies, and many of them have similar experiences, so I think they share similar values and aspirations both at work and in their private lives. At ARK, you can express your opinions and thoughts directly to the president. In addition, there is a high degree of freedom when it comes to work. I feel I can freely express what I really think in my current working environment. I would like to continue to be involved in the IT consulting industry in the future, but I would like to think about how to increase the name recognition and brand power of our company. Also, as an employee, I would like to carry out my work properly, receive high evaluations from clients, and try to make each employee a brand.

What kind of person is suitable for ARK?

I think that experience and interest in IT consulting work are essential. In terms of human nature, I think that people who want to take on challenges rather than just seeking a sense of stability in their current life are suitable. Also, since we are a small company, we may work with other major companies, so we believe that it is necessary to carry out our duties with a sense of responsibility, with the feeling that we ourselves are responsible for the company.
